Stride ahead on your wax journey and learn how to shape wax in a controlled fashion by making a Cabochon Ring.

This course covers how to carve a ring for a cabochon stone and how to make the shape to fit the individual stone. You will be advancing your skills and using a mixture of burr and hand skills.

Please note that there is no finish off in this course, it expected that you have prior knowledge of how to finish off your work after casting. If you don’t or you need a refresher you can cover that by purchasing the Wax 1- Beginners hard carving foundation course first.

MEET YOUR TEACHER

My name is Eran Naylor and I am a self taught goldsmith, designer and teacher. I have my own label, a working studio in Melbourne and also run a jewellery school. I started making jewellery 20 odd year ago and have progressed from there as creating jewellery became more and more of a passion.

I started off beading and wire wrapping, progressed to saw piercing and them onto wax work, teaching myself to solder along the way. I am proof that you can make it on your own and work it out as you go but I made a lot of mistakes along the way with no internet or short classes that are available today. With these classes I aim to help you avoid those same mistakes.

I started teaching eight years ago after helping a few friends with their skills and realised how much I have to offer, especially in wax work. Over a thousand students later, I have expanded the course range and now offer you these courses online to practice at home anywhere in the world.

I continue to work now as a bespoke goldsmith and miss the days when I had time to just sit for hours playing with wax. This is the best way to learn. I find that teaching and helping others fills that creative gap fo me now and is so enjoyable that it more than gives back. It gives me great pleasure to see others enjoying creating. All of my students know that I love nothing more than talking jewellery and am always available to help.

I hope that you enjoy your journey and I would be honoured to be a part of that along the way.

X Eran
